Our mannequin is wearing "Dominique" in Ivory Duchess Bridal Satin with an Alencon lace overlay.   Alencon lace is characterized by a fine corded border applied to each flower.  For this reason it is known as "the Queen of lace". The particular type of Alencon lace featured in this gown is very substantial: perfect to hold the shape of the Mermaid cut.  The "background" of the lace has an open mesh design, providing even more texture and detail.
