Our Standard Size Chart
Use the chart below to select an approximate size. This is just used for validation. Your dress will be made to your exact measurements as per the information you will provide to us after you place your order.

How to Take your Measurements
- First: try to make this fun! Bring your best friend or close family member over and celebrate. This is an important step towards your big day! Break out the cocktails (or mocktails) and get started.
- Alternatively, a professional seamstress/tailor can take your measurements for the best results. We do not recommend that you take your own measurements. Besides, who would you have cocktails with? ;)
- It’s best to be measured wearing the exact undergarments, slip, and shoes you’ll be wearing the day of the wedding or event. If you don't have them yet, wear the closest approximation: most importantly, heels of the same height. Don't forget pantyhose or Spanx if you plan on wearing these. Also, wear the same bra or corset you plan on wearing the day of. At the minimum, if you plan on wearing a strapless bra, wear one for for your measurements.
- Designers use the English Standard System for all measurements and sizes. Please measure to the closest half inch.
- For all measurements keep your thumb behind the tape and do not pull it tight. Remember: in all cases you want to round up! It is easier to take your dress in than it is to let it out.
The Bust Measurements
- Stand straight with your heels together and arms down at your sides and your bra or bustier on. (Keep it on for all measurements.)
- Position the measuring tape so that it covers the widest part of your back and the fullest part of your bust. This is the Full Bust Measurement.
- Place the measuring tape underneath your bust for the Under Bust Measurement.
- Measure the distance between the center of your breasts for the Nipple to Nipple Measurement.
- Check your bra cup size on your "best" bra. (A, B, C, D etc.)
The Waist Measurement
- While standing straight, bend to your side. The bend is your natural waist. (This is different than where you wear your pants or belt.)
- Stand straight and keep your heels together.
- Place the measuring tape around your natural waist for the Waist Measurement. (You will use this point as a reference for other measurements.)
The Hip Measurement
- Stand straight with your heels together and arms down at your side.
- Position the measuring tape around the widest part of your hips/buttocks for the Hip Measurement.
- If your dress is fitted over the lower hips such as a Mermaid style, measure how far down from your natural waist the widest part of your hips is. This is the Waist to Hip Measurement.
Shoulder Measurements
- Place the measuring tape across your shoulders at the back and measure the distance between your arm sockets. (About an inch in from the edge of your shoulders - there's a bone there.) This is generally the distance between your arm seams on a fitted blouse. This is the Shoulder to Shoulder Measurement.
- Measure the distance from the top of your shoulder (near your clavicle bone) to your nipple following the contour of your body. This is the Shoulder to Bust Measurement. (See picture below.)
Length Measurements
- Start the measuring tape at the top of the shoulder near your clavicle bone and measure down to your natural waist (see waist section) by following the contour of the front of your body over your bust. This is the Shoulder to Waist Measurement. (See picture below.)
- Measure from your natural waist (this time in back) to where you want your train to fall with your shoes on. If your dress has no train, measure to the hem of the dress. This is the Waist to Hem Measurement.
- Measure from the hollow at the base of the front of your neck to the floor in front of you with your shoes on. This is the Hollow to Hem Measurement.
- Measure from the top of your head from the back to the floor behind you with your shoes on. This the Overall Height Measurement.
Arm Measurements (For dresses with sleeves only)
- Measure around the widest part of your upper arm. This is the Bicep Measurement.
- Measure the distance right around the very top of your shoulders in a complete loop. This is the Around Shoulders Measurement.
- Measure the circumference of your desired sleeve hole. Measure from under your arm around to the top of your shoulder and back to where you started. This is the Arms Eye Measurement. (It may help to have a blouse on.)
- If your dress has long sleeves, measure the length of your arm from shoulder to wrist. This is the Arm Length Measurement.
- For a long sleeve dress, measure the Circumference of Your Wrist.
Here is an example of the way the tape should be placed for the shoulder to bust and shoulder to waist measurements. In this case our mannequin is 16.5" shoulder to waist and 10" shoulder to bust.
